4MD Medical is a female owned company that is proud to contribute to the ABWA scholarship fund and supports the organization in their mission to help women achieve success in the workplace. Rochelle Schwartz, the founder of 4MD Medical and business woman, understands the importance of having access to higher education and hopes that this partnership will bring both opportunity and awareness to aspiring business women.

Since its creation in 1953, the Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fund (SBMEF) has offered support for women by opening doors that grant them greater access to higher education. Over the years, the ABWA has awarded over $17 million in scholarships to more than 16,000 women in the United States and today, the organization is regarded as one of the most respected national grant scholarship programs in the country. The longstanding success of the ABWA has been made possible by generous contributions from organization partners such as 4MD Medical. The ABWA has a passion for moving women forward in education and business, empowering women through its scholarship fund.

The Mission of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition.

Applicants must submit their essays and accompanying information by midnight December 31, 2015 Pacific Standard Time (PST). The ABWA Board of Trustees will evaluate essays in order to determine the most qualified scholarship candidate. Selection of the contest winner will be made by April 30, 2016 and contacted by phone and email using the information provided by the applicant during submission. The awarded scholarship money ($2,000) must be used toward the winner’s tuition or books. For the scholarship to be awarded, there must be a minimum of three qualified applicants that have completed the entire process. Checks not cashed will not be reissued and scholarship will be returned to the general SBMEF fund. (This is a rare occurrence but has happened).
